Emma, Rufus and I set off early on Saturday from Glasgow on the long trip north to Wester Ross. It was a lovely journey with such beautiful scenery that the trip flew! We have been totally blown away from all the lovely landscapes we have passed while travelling on this tour.
There, we met Tricia, who had traveled over from Aberdeen, and began setting up the village hall which we had rented out.
Shortly after 7pm the first few audience members started to arrive. The performance went very well and we were delighted with a very positive reception.
After a great nights sleep we set off again, this time for Ballater, Aberdeenshire, near the Cairngorms. This quaint little town was sadly within the area hit by floods over the new year, so it is still under regeneration. A lot of people were left without homes and so most of the Deeside Inn residents on Sunday night had been staying in the hotel since January! We performed to mostly residents and really enjoyed the night as again, we got a great reception, and the hotel staff were so accommodating.
So far we have really enjoyed all venues on this tour, staff and punters alike have given us great feedback and been amazing all round! We are looking forward to including these places on our album tour later in the year. This coming weekend will see the fourth leg of our spring tour, with gigs at Cromarty Arts Trust (Sat 9pm, details here) and Abriachan Village Hall (Sun 3pm, details here). We will be giving a FREE workshop in Abriachan on Sunday afternoon just before the gig, so looking forward to hearing more young Scottish talent!
