I had a brilliant time last weekend with The Routes Quartet for the fourth leg of our tour. First stop on Saturday was Cromarty, a beautiful village north east of Inverness. We played a wonderful gig in the evening to a fantastic audience in Cromarty Arts Trust. The venue we played in was quite small and cosy, so therefore very intimate. We got a great response from the audience which was really uplifting and were delighted to sell a good many EPs.
The workshop was about four hours long and the students learned two arrangements, one of which I composed, called "Throw Away the Sandwich". They were all competent musicians and learned all their parts pretty quickly!
After this, the hall was set up for our gig. We played two 40 minute sets to a very receptive audience, and were absolutely thrilled with the feedback we received.
