The wedding was on Saturday but we set off the day before as it it quite a trek for just one night. The weather was fabulous on Friday too, so it was a great day to be travelling. Sarah's family had sorted us a lovely self-catering cottage in Port Charlotte, so after we got settled there, it was straight to the Port Charlotte Hotel for food and tunes! As usual we were well looked after by Grahame and Isabelle, and some of the wedding party arrived down for drinks and to enjoy the tunes.
The wedding ceremony took place in Outback Art, a lovely art gallery and cafe in Sanaigmore, which truly is out in the wilderness! Tina and I played some tunes at the drinks reception after the ceremony to a very jovial crowd!
Once we had finished, we all ate again at Port Charlotte (a very nice prawn curry!) before going to play a ceilidh at the reception in Portnahaven.
This was in the town hall, which I had never been in before and it was a really great venue. As half of the room were Irish, Jenn had to give very clear instructions on how to do all the Scottish dances. There were a few tumbles here and there but no bones were broken!
It was such an enjoyable weekend and we were really well looked after by Sarah & Mark and Grahame & Isabelle at the Port Charlotte Hotel. It was great to catch up with everyone too, and lovely playing tunes with the ladies!
Big congratulations to the beautiful newlyweds!
